Hum Gunahgar Aurtein-Kishwar Naheed
Kishwar Naheed is a feminist Urdu
poet and writer. She was born in India and moved to Lahore, Pakistan, with her
family in 1949, after the partition.
Kishwar Naheed has authored several
poetry volumes and has won different honors for her creative contributions to
Urdu literature. She also received Pakistan’s most prestigious award, the
Sitara-e-Imtiaz. Her poetry is a reflection of the plight of women, and it
portrays women’s struggle in a patriarchal culture. She also witnessed women’s
sexual assault, kidnapping, and enslavement, their bruised and blood-soaked
bodies at the time of the partition of India.

She is an author and a poet. So far,
twelve volumes of her poetry have been released in both Pakistan and India. Additionally, she has composed
poetry for kids, and her poetry has been translated into many languages. Her
poem, titled “We Sinful Women,” is the most popular among Pakistani
feminists. And this poem is a true reflection of those courageous women in our
society who resist cultural norms and stereotypes.
جو اہل جبہ کی تمکنت سے
نہ رعب کھائيں
نہ جان بیچیں
نہ سر جھکائیں
نہ ہاتھ جوڑیں
یہ ہم گنہگار عورتیں ہیں
کہ جن کے جسموں کی فصل بیچیں جولوگ
وہ سرفراز ٹھہریں
نیابتِ امتیازٹھہریں
وہ داور اہل ساز ٹھہریں
یہ ہم گنہگار عورتیں ہیں
کہ سچ کا پرچم اٹھا کے نکلیں
تو جھوٹ سےشاہراہیں اٹی ملے ہیں
ہر
ایک دہلیز پہ سزاؤں کی داستانیں رکھی ملےہیں
جو بول سکتی تھی وو زبانیں کٹی ملے ہیں
یہ ہم گنہگار عورتیں ہیں
کہ اب تعاقب میں رات بھی آئے
تو یہ آنکھیں نہیں بجھیں گی
کہ اب جو دیور گر چکی ہے
اسے اُٹھانے کی ضد نہ کرنا
یہ ہم گنہگار عورتیں ہیں
جو اہل جبہ کی تمکنت سے
نہ رعب کھائيں
نہ جان بیچیں
نہ سر جھکائیں
نہ
ہاتھ جوڑیں
